The Zenith Defy Skyline Tourbillon just got more exclusive with a new limited edition timepiece
The worlds of contemporary art and haute horlogerie seamlessly merge once again with the debut of the Defy Skyline Tourbillon Felipe Pantone. This striking limited edition timepiece, unveiled by Zenith in collaboration with renowned optical artist Felipe Pantone, will be available in a limited run of just 100 pieces starting 12 September 2024.
Third Time’s The Charm
This new release marks the third collaborative project between Zenith and Pantone, following their previous successes which included the Defy 21 and Defy Extreme Felipe Pantone series. The Defy Skyline Tourbillon Felipe Pantone represents a fresh and innovative take on the Defy Skyline model, showcasing a unique fusion of modern art and precision watchmaking.
The watch features a 41mm octagonal stainless-steel case with a sharp, geometric design. Its alternating satin-brushed and polished finishes, along with the dodecagonal bezel, create a captivating play of light and shadow. The Defy Skyline Tourbillon Felipe Pantone also comes with a steel bracelet and a black rubber strap, designed for both elegance and comfort.
Signature Style
One of the most striking elements of this timepiece is its iridescent sapphire dial. The dial, crafted from a sapphire disk, is adorned with a micro-engraved pattern of concentric circles that produce a moiré effect, echoing Pantone’s signature visual style.
The back of the dial features a mirrored metallic finish, enhancing its visual impact and adding a touch of retro nostalgia with a vignette effect that darkens towards the edges. The Defy Skyline Tourbillon Felipe Pantone is powered by the El Primero 3630 high-frequency automatic movement, offering a 60-hour power reserve.
The artist’s signature chromatic touch extends to the movement itself, with a rainbow PVD finish on the star-shaped oscillating weight, matching the tourbillon cage and other metallic elements. Completing this exceptional release is a custom watch box designed by Pantone, featuring an iridescent pattern that mirrors the watch’s unique aesthetic.
