New Collection Consists Of 8 Differently Coloured Defy 21 Models

Zenith as a brand has never been shy when it comes to experimenting with new colourways and groundbreaking movements. We have already seen the brand introduce vibrantly colourful dials in the 1970s and now the brand is introducing the Ultra Colour Box Set to explore chromatics in a new and daring way.

Th Defy 21 is the first Zenith model to host the brand’s groundbreaking El Primero 1/100th of a second chronograph movement. This timepiece demonstrates the brand’s ability to create high-frequency precision through frequencies of light and colours which is also seen in the Ultra Colour Box Set.

This idea of high-frequency precision through frequencies of light and colours was first brought to life with the Defy 21 Ultraviolet in 2020. This established a new design code for the Defy 21 that Zenith is now fully expressing with the Defy 21 Ultra Colour box set.Ultra Colour

There are eight different iterations in different colours in the Defy 21 Ultra Colour box set. The collection is limited to only eight box sets in all. Each watch is crafted in entirely matte finished lightweight titanium, allowing the chromatics to fully shine through.

On top of that, the open dials of the Defy watches in the Ultra Colour box set feature raised chronograph counters matching the grey tone of the case, which house the vibrant colours beneath. The bridges and oscillating rotors of the watches are finished in eight different monochrome tones, which are, black, blue, violet, orange, pink, green, turquoise and khaki.Ultra Colour

What’s more, the metallic tones shift with the light and the cordura-effect rubber straps are also made to match the colours of the movement. The El Primero 21 automatic high-frequency 1/100th of a second chronograph can also be viewed through the dial as well as the sapphire case back for all watches in the Ultra Colour box set.

The cherry on top of the Ultra Colour box set is the packaging. The Defy watches are delivered in a transparent acrylic presentation case, with an iridescent effect that refracts light to display different colours depending on the angle of the light resulting in a luminous and transparent almost crystalline allure.

Finally, each watch in the Ultra Colour box set arrives with an engraving on the case back with a limited edition number out of 8. Each box set will feature watches that are sequentially numbered 1 through 8, rather than having the same number for all eight watches in a single box set.
