The Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO) will present a special chamber concert themed Strings In Harmony on Wednesday, 13 December 2023 at 8.30 pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC.
Young Talent
Witness the vibrant talents of the young musicians who are nurtured and coached by the musicians of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO). This is as part of its initiatives in giving back to the community by sharing knowledge and skills to our local talents. The chamber concert will be led by MPO Resident Conductor Gerard Salonga.
First, cellist Charlene Lee Ann will take centrestage to perform Gabor’s Autumn, Bach’s Adagio (from Toccata in C major for Organ) and Popper’s Fond Recollections, Op. 64, No. 1. Next, double bass player Dahlia Dayana Ahmad Nazir will perform the second movement from Concerto in D composed by Dittersdorf.
Classic Music
Moreover, the MPYO ensemble will present Mozart’s Divertimento and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings Op. 48. The night will be culminated by Britten’s Simple Symphony for String Orchestra. All pieces the MPO has also played.
Tickets are priced at RM25 for all seating categories and the concert will last for one hour without an intermission. Join our emerging local talents in a night celebrating youthful vibrancy with the MPYO.
