The Leapmotor C10 is the newest EV offering for the local market

Stellantis Malaysia has officially launched Leapmotor, its first new energy brand, debuting with the all-new electric C10 SUV. This marks a significant milestone for Leapmotor International, a joint venture formed with Leapmotor, focusing on expanding the global market for innovative, cost-efficient Chinese new energy vehicles (NEVs).

Exceptional All Around

Achieved in just one year, this launch is part of Stellantis’ €1.5 billion investment, which secured a 21 percent stake in Leapmotor. The C10 SUV makes its Southeast Asian debut in Malaysia, designed for modern families and professionals. It promises an exceptional driving experience, combining comfort, safety and advanced technology, with over 60 percent of its components developed and manufactured in-house.

Ranked among the top three EV startups in China, Leapmotor has delivered an impressive 460,000 units by September 2024, showcasing its potential on the global stage. Daniel Gonzalez, Stellantis ASEAN’s COO, emphasised the unique partnership with Leapmotor, offering high-value electric vehicle (EV) technology supported by Stellantis’s retail network, ensuring a customer-centric ownership experience.

Jamie Francis Morais, Managing Director of Stellantis Malaysia, highlighted the C10 as a game-changer in the local EV market, packed with innovative features that cater to discerning Malaysian consumers.

Thus far, the C10 has received accolades for its striking design, including the 2023 International CMF Design Award. Its elegant silhouette features LED headlights and a sleek profile, while its spacious interior ensures comfort and versatility, boasting the ability to transform into a double bed.
