Rosewood Phnom Penh Brings Back The World’s 50 Best Bars In 2023

If you like to drink then you’re going to love this news. Now that we are well into the second month of 2023, Rosewood Phnom Penh is happy to announce the return of its Rosewood Bar Series which showcases the World’s 50 Best Bars. So if you’ve been waiting, well, the wait is over, folks.

Introduced last year, this popular series invites internationally acclaimed mixologists shortlisted by The World’s 50 Best Bars, annual rankings that celebrate the leading establishments in the drinks industry, to helm Sora Sky Bar for a few nights to offer the best of the best drinks in one place.

Each month in 2023, new talents will visit Phnom Penh’s highest bar to present a special menu featuring five of their signatures. Last year, the ultra-luxury hotel welcomed industry heavyweights from all corners of the globe, including Giacomo Giannotti, the owner and master mixologist Paradiso which was the World’s Best Bar 2022.

The World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 promises the same level of excellence as before, starring the brightest talent across Asia and beyond. Bar manager Rusty Cerven of Singapore’s Manhattan Bar (ranked number 33) kickstarted the 2023 series from 27 to 28 January, serving his signature barrel-aged cocktails.

In addition to this, Rosewood Phnom Penh will also welcome Andrew Yap, who leads the Ernest Hemingway-inspired speakeasy Papa Doble in Singapore (ranked number 61). From 9 to 11 February, Yap will transport the World’s 50 Best Bars visitors to a whole new level of amazing with his signature experimental cocktails.

In March, another industry legend will make an appearance at World’s 50 Best Bars 2023. Bar legend Yangdup Lama, of New Delhi’s ever-popular watering hole Sidecar (ranked number 26), will kick things up a notch with his signature artisanal cocktails from 17 to 19 March.

Not too long after that, famed Italian bartender Patrick Pistolesi, the visionary behind Rome’s Japanese-inspired futuristic nightclub Drink Kong (ranked number 16), will join the World’s 50 Best Bars to share his keen instinct for multisensory creations from 23 to 25 March followed by many more amazing mixologists later on.

Managing Director Daniel Simon, says, “Our mixology-in-residency program provides world-class drinks professionals an opportunity to explore Cambodia’s capital, culture and countryside while experimenting with local ingredients and methods to use on the menu.”
