Rolls Royce Unveils The Spectre EV

The Spectre represents a new era for Rolls Royce
The Rolls Royce Spectre is the brand’s first ever fully-electric motor car. This means the car marks a significant turning point in history, a new era not just for the company, but for luxury as a whole. With the car being unveiled the first customer cars will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2023 so don’t expect to see one on the road just yet.
Historically, Rolls Royce has been known for its big, powerful V12 cars, so naturally being an electric car, some may be skeptical of the capability of the Spectre, however, one needn’t worry as the CEO of the company assures that the Spectre is “… a Rolls-Royce first and an electric car second …”
Moreover, the Spectre is built on an improved Rolls Royce Architecture of Luxury making it 30 percent stiffer than any Rolls Royce before it. What’s more, this car will be a true successor to the Phantom Coupe as it is a true four seater, making it world’s first Ultra-Luxury Electric Super Coupe.
On top of that, the Rolls Royce Spectre was built to deliver the brand’s next generation hallmark ‘magic carpet ride’ which reduces high-frequency ride imperfections. It is also constantly being tested to ensure it meets the requirements of even the most discerning of customers.
Additionally, while no final technical specifications are confirmed for the Rolls Royce Spectre, preliminary data suggests that the car should come with an all-electric WLTP range of 520km while producing 430kW (577hp) of power and 900Nm of torque. It is also projected to be able to complete the century sprint in 4.5 seconds.
The fastback design of the Rolls Royce Spectre is not just gorgeous, it is also functional. Inspired by haute couture, modernist sculpture, nautical design, tailoring and contemporary art, this design yields the lowest ever drag coefficient on a Rolls Royce car which should maximize the WLTP range by quite a bit.
The interior of the Rolls Royce Spectre is perhaps the biggest change with a fully digital driver display and three screen setup as well as luxurious multi coloured seats with the signature Rolls Royce stars LED roof. Although one has to wonder, how much is too much when it comes to screens in a car?
The Spectre name is a legacy Rolls Royce name used to exemplify the brand’s near silent running. It fulfills the prophecy of its founding father, Charles Rolls, who predicted electrification in the 1900s and keeps the promise of the brand’s CEO to introduce an electric car within the decade.
