Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend Tells The Backstory Of The Italian Supercar

Share

This month, we will be treated to a brand new automotive biopic that recalls the birth of one of the world’s most legendary supercars. We’re talking about the tale of the Italian raging bull of course, which will be told in the film Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend.  Here’s what we know about it…

What’s It About

The thrilling, high-speed biopic tells the story of genius auto inventor Ferruccio Lamborghini. All his life Ferruccio has dreamed of beating his long-time rival Enzo Ferrari— and the upcoming Geneva grand prix could be his chance to blow past Ferrari for good. But can Ferruccio get his untested vehicle prepped for victory with the competition just months away?

Who’s In It

The film is led by Frank Grillo who stars as Ferruccio Lamborghini with Gabriel Byrne as Enzo Ferrari. Also starring in the film is Oscar winner Mira Sorvino.  Robert Moresco, the Academy Award screenwriter of Crash, directs this automotive biopic.

Why We’re Excited About It

Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend

Well, for starters it’s an automotive biopic, which means a healthy dose of dramatization, which should make for good entertainment. It should also have good insight to the rivalry between Lamborghini and Ferrari, especially as the film is based on the book written by Tonino Lamborghini, the son of Ferruccio. Also, as it’s a film about cars, expect to see a fair bit of motoring classics in the film. In the trailer, which you can view below there’s the 350 GT, Miura, and Countach from Lamborghini. A Ferrari Mondial also makes an appearance.

Interesting Fact

This isn’t the first automotive biopic that’s headed our way. Michael Mann is also directing Ferrari, which sees Adam Driver playing Enzo Ferrari.

When’s It Coming Out And How Can I Watch It

Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend is due for release on-demand and digital on 18 November. There’s no word yet on a local release in cinemas or on streaming but do expect one of the streamers to premiere this Lionsgate production in the near future.
