Fashion brand reveals its first permanent boutique in the City of Light
As part of a story that began in the late 1800s, travel is precisely where Italian luxury fashion brand, Gucci finds its origins. This story tells the tale of a young Guccio Gucci who journeyed to London and worked as a porter at the Savoy Hotel. This is why the newest permanent boutique from the brand is dedicated to travel.
During his time in London, young Guccio encountered the magic of travel at a time when it represented a bridge between cultures and the pursuit of the unexpected. Inspired by this, he returned to Florence to establish his own artisanal luggage atelier in 1921 and the rest as we all know is history.
Moreover, the innovative designs and meticulous craftsmanship very quickly captured the hearts of the most illustrious names in cinema, music, art and even royalty. Then the spontaneous snapshots of the brand over the past century have linked the name Gucci with travel and this connection remains even today.
The newest permanent boutique from the brand represents the magic of travel too. Located at 229 Rue Saint-Honore and burrowed between Place Vendome and Jardinstylr des Tuileries, the Gucci Valigeria is a two-floor space with an interior that draws inspiration from luxury travelling during the Belle Epoque.
Furthermore, the decor at the Gucci Valigeria is intimate and refined and evokes the atmosphere of a vintage railway carriage. The Gucci Valigeria is also marked by spiral columns with ovate lamps and accented by engraved lion’s head details which elevates the entire ambiance.
Marco Bizzarri, President and CEO of Gucci stated, “Gucci Valigeria is a powerful reminder of our Florentine roots and our timeless craft. It is a symbol of our legacy, lifestyle, style interpreted through the ages for the travelers and modern-day explorers of every era. Paris’s Rue Saint-Honoré is the perfect location to house our first Gucci Valigeria boutique, offering a portal into our ever-expanding world of travel and discovery.”
What’s more, the Gucci Valigeria boutique also showcases a curated selection of the brand’s travel related offerings such as totes, backpacks, duffels, garment bags, vanity cases, hat cases, suitcases and trunks offered in both hard and soft-sided iterations too. So do expect to be bitten by the travel bug if you ever visit the Gucci Valigeria.
