The dining promotion showcases the rich culinary tradition of Vietnam

A popular gastronomic destination on the east coast of sunny Malaysia, Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas is hosting an exclusive “Tastes of Vietnam” promotion at its Turmeric restaurant. Held in partnership with Tran Tuan Vinh, Executive Chef at Anantara Quy Nhon Villas in Vietnam, the dining promotion offers diners a taste of the rich culinary history of the country. “Tastes of Vietnam”

When?

Running from 6 to 21 October 2023, the culinary event will showcase some of the country’s most popular dishes, as well as a number of delicacies from Chef Vinh’s home town of Hoi An, the culinary capital of Vietnam.

Moreover, bursting with complex flavours and fresh seasonal produce, Chef Vinh’s delectable appetisers range from fresh summer rolls with prawn and Quy Nhon-style rice pancakes with squid to grilled minced beef wrapped in lolot leaf and zesty green mango salad with chicken satay.

Dinner is Served

For the main course, you will be spoilt for choice with tempting options for meat and seafood lovers as well as vegetarians. The famous phở bò, Vietnamese beef noodle soup, and Hanoi-style bún chả with chicken are both on the menu and offer a succulent experience regardless of which you choose.“Tastes of Vietnam”

Specialities on offer during “Tastes of Vietnam” are the braised free-range duck with coconut juice, grilled rib eye with five spice sauce, grilled, steamed sea bass with chilli and galangal and lotus seed and fermented soya beans, sautéed king prawn with tangy tamarind sauce and more.

More Food, More Choice

Also on the menu are grilled eggplant with spring onion aioli, and a whole other list of traditional dishes. For dessert, options include sweet lotus seed soup and the delightfully chewy Quy Nhon-style steamed banana cake. While some of these dishes may sound familiar to us Malaysians, they offer a whole different galaxy of taste.

Executive Chef Fahdrul Abd Malek, said, “We are delighted to have Chef Vinh here with us as Vietnamese food promotion is a first here in Desaru Coast and we will be bringing more guest chefs from other Anantara properties around the world to promote their signature dishes.”“Tastes of Vietnam”

The menu will be available for lunch and dinner, with prices starting from RM60+ per dish. For further information, visit the Official Anantara Desaru Coast Website.
