Rare Patek Philippe timepces are going on sale at Dubai Watch Week this November
Christie’s Watches announce an exclusive exhibition of extremely rare and one of a kind Patek Philippe timepieces from The Oak Collection. Set to take place at Christie’s Dubai, DIFC during Dubai Watch Week, this event is organised under the patronage of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons.
A Rare Selection
A selection of 150 plus pieces from a collection of more than 600 timepieces in The Oak Collection (One-of-a-Kind) will be exhibited from 17 to 20 November 2023 at Christie’s. This is open to the public, as well as to any guests and visitors attending Dubai Watch Week.
Moreover, the Oak Collection Exhibition being held at Christie’s Dubai will comprise solely of Patek Philippe timepieces. The diversity and rarity of The Oak Collection, combined with the immaculate provenance and pristine condition of the pieces makes this collection an homage to Haute Horology’s finest engineering and master craftsmanship. It also serves to entice the exceptional eye of the collector whose vision brought many of these one of a kind pieces to life.
A Private Collection
From the largest holding of Patek Philippe watches outside of the Patek Philippe Museum, owned by Henry Graves Jr., to the Patek Philippe ‘Calatrava,’ the owner holds the world’s largest collection of examples of this model, to ‘The new age of independents & steel sports’, The Oak Collection has been meticulously curated into 11 distinct sections, all equally fascinating and each a testament to an unequalled passion for horology.
Interestingly, each of the 600 pieces in the overall collection is known for its rarity and exceptional condition whilst it almost exclusively features ‘one-of-a-kind’ watches and pocket watches, all produced either in limited series, as special editions or as a bespoke order.
True Eye Candy
It also includes many pieces worthy of museum status due to their remarkable horological engineering and use of rare materials. Collected by the owner over nearly four decades, The Oak Collection offers an unrivalled selection of both historical and contemporary timepieces celebrating the greatest names in established and independent Swiss watchmaking.
