Witness the nostalgia of George Lam at Marina Bay Sands Live
Hong Kong-based legendary singer-songwriter, music producer and actor George Lam (林子祥) is set to enthrall and entertain music fans with his repertoire of evergreen hits in Singapore. The concert takes place on 28 April when the Cantopop star takes the stage at Sands Grand Ballroom.
The More The Merrier
Lam will be joined by his wife and fellow Cantopop singer Sally Yeh (叶蒨 文), who will be making a special guest appearance at the performance. Lam’s concert, titled “One Night with George Lam”, is part of the integrated resort’s (IR) Sands Live concert series, which celebrates the biggest international artistes and allows guests to experience concerts in an up-close and intimate setting.
As a bona fide Cantopop veteran, Lam has played a significant role in shaping the Hong Kong music scene. Celebrated as one of Hong Kong’s pioneering artists, Lam released his first album in 1978 which bore powerhouse classics such as In the Middle of The Water (在水中 央) and Need You Every Minute (分分钟需要你).
Decades Of Greatness
He has since become one of the most prolific performers in Hong Kong with over 40 albums in English, Mandarin and Cantonese under his belt. Lam’s outstanding vocal flair has earned him the epithet “Iron Lung”, as well as several prestigious accolades including the Golden Needle Award and TVB Lifetime Achievement Award.
Apart from his singing career, Lam is also popular on the silver screen, having played notable lead roles in Boat People (1982) and King of Beggars (1992), and was also a regular guest star on reality TV shows Our Song (2021) and Infinity and Beyond (2022).
A Special Guest
Making a special guest appearance at Lam’s concert will be Yeh, one of Hong Kong’s most acclaimed female Cantopop artists of all time. Yeh has been at the forefront of the Cantopop music scene for over four decades and has released award-winning singles such as Heartbroken in the Past (曾经心痛) and A Woman’s Tears (女人的眼泪). The couple is best known for singing the romantic duet My Choice (天长地久).
