The Britannic Explorer is the first luxury sleeper train in England and Wales
In July 2025, Belmond will launch the Britannic Explorer, the first luxury sleeper train to travel through England and Wales. This innovative rail experience blends classic British rail heritage with modern comforts, offering a fresh approach to slow travel. 
A New Standard
The Britannic Explorer features 18 elegantly designed cabins, including 3 Grand Suites and 15 Suites, each crafted with British craftsmanship. Interiors are serene yet vibrant, with a design inspired by the natural beauty outside the train’s expansive picture windows.
The cabins provide the perfect sanctuary to unwind, while the on-board wellness suite offers rejuvenating therapies to relax and revive. Each journey takes passengers on a three-night adventure, with routes through the Cornish coast, the Lake District and Wales. 
Guided Adventures
Passengers can also opt for a variety of guided excursions, exploring local culture, art, and history, from private tours of Hauser & Wirth Somerset to guided hikes through the Lake District. By night, the train’s Botanical Bar becomes a social hub, where guests can mingle and enjoy botanical-inspired cocktails.
Exceptional Dining
The Britannic Explorer’s dining experience is curated by Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan, known for his farm-to-table philosophy. Rogan’s menus will celebrate Britain’s diverse culinary regions, using seasonal, sustainably sourced ingredients. Whether it’s a bespoke afternoon tea or a multi-course dinner, each meal is designed to reflect the landscape and culture of the route, offering guests a truly immersive experience.
