A New Experience
As twilight sets in, you are welcomed to the serene Frangipani Courtyard for a five-course culinary adventure. The evening begins with a stunning Bokator performance, an ancient Khmer martial art that enchants with its grace and power.
As night falls, the dining experience continues with a traditional shadow puppet show, featuring intricately crafted puppets made from painted cowhide and wood, brought to life in a mesmerising three-act performance.
Savour A Variety Of Flavours
Throughout the evening, you can savour a range of local delicacies, including Kep crab cakes, Mekong langoustine soup, lamb shank Saraman curry, and a decadent baked Alaska with local mango. Each course is expertly paired with selected wines, enhancing the flavours and creating a seamless blend of gastronomy and storytelling.
Supratik Guha, General Manager of Anantara Angkor Resort, highlights the significance of this experience, saying, “Sbek Thom, or large Cambodian shadow puppetry, is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and a vital part of Cambodia’s cultural legacy. Our goal is to revive and showcase this ancient art form through a unique fusion of tradition, storytelling, and fine dining.”

The Angkorian Dining Theatre is available for USD600 (about RM2,623) per couple, which includes the five-course meal and wine pairings. The event takes place from 7:30pm to 9:00pm at the Frangipani Courtyard. For reservations or more information, visit the resort’s website.
