Western Australia hosts the upcoming TIME • RONE artistic experience
Experience a journey through time and art like never before as acclaimed street artist Rone debuts at The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) with his immersive exhibition, TIME • RONE. Set within AGWA’s historic Centenary Galleries, this ticketed public exhibition promises to transport visitors into a mesmerising world of haunting murals and immersive installations.
Time Again
Following the resounding success of his TIME installation at Melbourne’s Flinders Street Station, Rone brings new, exclusive artworks to Perth. AGWA Director Colin Walker expresses excitement about this unprecedented exhibition, marking the Centenary Galleries’ first fully immersive experience in nearly two decades.
Opening to the public on 1 July 2024 for a three-month run, TIME • RONE will transform 12 rooms across two floors of the Centenary Galleries. Each room will host its own immersive installation, complemented by a bespoke soundscape crafted by composer Nick Batterham.
An Auditory And Visual Marvel
This synergy of visuals and music promises to evoke a profound sensory experience, inviting visitors to explore themes of beauty in decay on a grand scale. Beyond the visual and auditory journey, TIME • RONE offers additional layers of engagement.
Visitors can partake in immersive dinners set amidst Rone’s artworks, browse exclusive merchandise at the RONE store, and unwind in a specially designed bar space inspired by his aesthetic vision. These elements converge to offer an all-encompassing immersion into Rone’s creative universe.
Explore Art
This exhibition not only redefines the boundaries of traditional gallery experiences but also invites visitors to interact intimately with art and history. It’s an opportunity to rediscover the Centenary Galleries through a new lens, where each step reveals remnants of mid-century Australia woven into a narrative of artistic exploration.
