The BMW Touring Concept is a unique variant of the Z4 coupe

German automaker, BMW, has just revealed its latest creation, the BMW Concept Touring Coupe, a one-off two seater shooting brake coupe based on the Z4 coupe that continues the legendary BMW tradition of being the ultimate driving machine and this car could quite possibly even rival Ferraris. Let’s take a closer look at it.

BMW designers took inspiration from classic sports cars when building the Touring Concept Coupe with its timeless exterior, precisely crafted leather surfaces from Italian manufacturer Poltrona Frau in the interior which creates a luxurious ambience. The compartment behind the seats also provides ample room to stow luggage, which itself was also exclusively custom-made at the Schedoni leather workshop in Modena.

Moreover, the BMW Concept Touring Coupe made its global debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2023 surrounded by classic motors from automotive history that brought joy to their owners and observers alike for decades, this unique car will be presented in Cernobbio, Italy, as a tribute to the timeless design of automobiles.

Domagoj Dukec, head of BMW Design also stated, “The BMW Concept Touring Coupé celebrates the original Sheer Driving Pleasure. A highly emotional vehicle like this shows that the passion for everything that goes into driving pleasure has been essential through the ages and will be for the future.”

The hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind BMW Concept Touring Coupe combines traditional design with the modernity of a sports car from today and its proportions and name are a call back to the BMW 328 Touring Coupe that won the Mille Miglia endurance race back in 1940 while also staying fresh and new.

On top of that, the functionality of the shooting-brake concept is a nod to the BMW 02 Series model variants of the early 1970s, which featured “Touring” in their name to distinguish them from sedans. The styling of the signets on the rear and inside this unique vehicle was inspired by the model inscription of this historic predecessor.

The BMW Concept Touring Coupe is powered by the brand’s signature inline-six engine, with performance characteristics and refinement that confirm its status as a symbol of pure, unadulterated Sheer Driving Pleasure. Naturally, as a BMW, it has to drive well since good looks are not enough to make the ultimate driving machine.

The BMW coupe is stunning from every angle, with a sculpted rear end and a sharp profile from the side and also features classic BMW styling cues such as short overhangs both in the front and rear with a long bonnet, a special BMW kidney grille and stylish wheels.

The interior is no different with the classic BMW driver focused cockpit, fine craftsmanship and premium leather being used combined with a clean and simple interior with a classic BMW dashboard and centre console design in a spacious and practical design making the BMW Touring Concept Coupe stunning inside and out.
