See the latest Diageo Scotch Whisky Collection inspired by art

As we have always said, nothing beats a good shot of hard Scotch Whisky. To be fair, alcoholic beverages and cocktails are all right, but nothing beats the raw and unbound nature of a good Whisky. But for 2023, Diageo is elevating the tipple somewhat, inviting guests to get frisky with their whisky.

As you may know, Diageo is a global leader in beverage alcohol with an outstanding collection of brands across spirits, beer and wine categories. These include Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal, J&B, Buchanan’s, Smirnoff, Ciroc and Ketel One vodkas, Captain Morgan, Baileys, Don Julio, Tanqueray and Guinness.

As if all this was not impressive enough, Diageo, is unveiling its highly anticipated Elusive Expressions Special Releases Scotch Whisky Collection. The new collection is inspired by fantasy art and storytelling featuring aged and finely finished whiskies handpicked by Master Blender, Dr. Craig Wilson at an exclusive tasting experience.

And just what might be featured in this exclusive Diageo collection, you ask? Well, the collection includes the dark, sweet, and rich Mortlach, with gingery depth, unique to the Speyside Dufftown distillery. It also includes a lively sweet expression of The Singleton of Glen Ord, aged in refill American and European Oak, then double matured in wine-seasoned casks.

The Diageo collection also features a true expression of Lagavulin, matured in a combination of virgin oak casks and its smokiest reserves. You can also add the Talisker 11-Year-Old to the list. Elemental yet also classic in character, the whisky offers maritime malty smokiness notes and an unusual Clynelish with just a slight trace of waxiness. The unique taste profile and added sweetness and spiciness is the result of a maturation in refill American Oak, before its finished in PX/Oloroso seasoned casks

Also included in the Diageo collection is a rare expression of Cardhu, finished in Jamaican Rum casks for a vibrant tropical sweetness. There’s also the creamy smooth Oban 10-Year-Old with richly sweet fruitiness, light smoke and salt notes and for the first time ever, the rich and exquisite Cameronbridge 26-Year-Old.

Dr. Craig Wilson himself stated, “Today we reveal and introduce Elusive Expressions, a boundary-pushing collection with flavours and finishes that truly redefine what cask-strength whiskies can be.”
