Say hello to the electrifying future for two wheelers

BMW Group Malaysia recently unveiled a bunch of new and exciting vehicles from some of its brands. However, the one that got us the most excited was the BMW Motorrad brand’s newest electric motorcycle (e-bike) offering, the stylish, sleek and futuristic BMW CE 04.

The introduction of the BMW CE 04 is exciting as this means the bike’s arrival will electrify the BMW Motorrad portfolio. It also serves to further push Malaysia into the age of electrification in not just the traditional four wheel electric vehicle (EV) scene but also in the two wheel scene as well.

“To usher in the start of the new year, we are excited to introduce the New BMW CE 04 that is set to redefine emotive motorcycling for the urban mobility crowd in Malaysia,” said Hans de Visser, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia.

He added, “A combination of futuristic form with tried-and-tested functionality, the New BMW CE 04 represents our ideals for Responsible and Sustainable mobility. With plans for all future urban mobility models to be purely electric, we are going beyond just introducing new, innovative models for our customers, but are also taking the lead in reshaping the landscape as a whole.”

And reshape the entire e-bike and motorcycle landscape, the BMW CE 04 will do. With its powerful motor that generates a maximum output of 31kW and 62Nm, it pushes this all-electric bike from zero to 100km/h in just 2.6 seconds. It also boasts a top speed of 120km/h yielding more power than you need but still will regularly use.

Furthermore, the BMW CE 04 is equipped with a 8.9kWh battery that gives the bike a maximum range of 130km. The battery can be charged from 0 to full in just 1 hour and 20 minutes with a 6.9kW charger. This is excellent news as these days, there is a sort of sufficient amount of EV chargers in and around some bigger cities here.

All this paired with the exceptionally contemporary styling of the BMW CE04 make it the perfect e-bike for almost anyone. It is versatile, fast, safe, stylish and futuristic all at once.
