Netflix Releases First Look For Back In Action Starring Jamie Foxx And Cameron Diaz
Share
It’s been ten years since Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz shared a screen. But in January 2025, the actors will be back in action (literally) with a new action-comedy produced by Netflix.
Spy Games
The new film directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses), reunites the two stars who have collaborated before on films Any Given Sunday and Annie. This time around Foxx and Diaz star as Matt and Emily, a couple of CIA agents who give up the espionage game to start a family.
However when their cover is blown, the couple have to fall back on their training and expertise as they’re drawn back to the world of spies.
Long Awaited Return
Although Foxx has largely stayed busy with film projects such as Day Shift and They Cloned Tyrone for Netflix as well as a return as Electro in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Diaz has shied away from the spotlight.
After fronting hit films such as Charlie’s Angels, The Mask and Vanilla Sky, the actress took a back seat after her 2014 role in Annie. With Netflix luring Diaz back to the front of the camera, it will be interesting to see what she delivers following her decade-long Hollywood absence.
Talented Cast
Foxx and Diaz aren’t the only two big names headlining this new action flick. Rounding up the cast are Kyle Chandler, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou , McKenna Roberts, Rylan Jackson and Glenn Close.
Gordon pulls double duty on the film, co-writing the script with Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors). Back In Action will premiere globally on Netflix on 17 January 2025. Check out the teaser trailer here.
