The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé showcases its progressive character, particularly in digitalization, featuring the advanced BMW iDrive with QuickSelect and a range of digital services and in-car gaming through BMW Operating System 9. Production is set to take place at the BMW Group’s Leipzig plant, with a market launch planned for March 2025.
The exterior design embodies BMW’s hallmark sporty elegance, highlighted by an expressive front, elongated silhouette, and powerful rear. The wide BMW radiator grille, with innovative vertical and diagonal bars, contributes to a low-slung, road-hugging stance. Standard LED headlights feature vertical DRLs, with adaptive options available, including matrix high beam technology.
Moreover, the BMW Iconic Glow option will also be available from March 2025. The side profile is defined by a long bonnet, short overhangs, and a gently sloping roofline, emphasizing its athletic form. The rear displays a modern aesthetic with flat lights, integrated exhaust pipes, and refined surface structures.
A range of exterior finishes is available, including various solid, metallic, and Individual options, with a contrasting high-gloss black roof. In terms of dimensions, the new Gran Coupé is 20mm longer at 4,546mm, with a wheelbase of 2,670mm and a height increase of 25mm to 1,445mm.
The interior is also entirely leather-free as standard, featuring options like Veganza/Alcantara trim with hand-sewn details. High-quality materials and dynamic backlit aluminum trims enhance the premium feel. The BMW Curved Display and new gear selector reflect the car’s modern character.
On top of that, comfort is paramount with newly designed seats, including options for heated and massaging sports seats. At the top of the lineup is the BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupé, boasting a 300 hp 4-cylinder engine that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
An M Technology package offers lightweight construction and enhanced braking performance. The M Sport package includes an adaptive M suspension, improving both agility and comfort.
The drive portfolio features advanced 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, all paired with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission. The new models also incorporate 48-volt mild hybrid technology for improved efficiency. Enhanced chassis rigidity and optimized shock absorber technology contribute to superior agility and cornering dynamics.
What’s more, for safety, the 2 Series Gran Coupé includes a comprehensive array of driver assistance systems, with features like front collision warning, Lane Departure Warning, and a sophisticated Parking Assistant. The BMW iDrive system allows for intuitive control of vehicle functions, supported by the BMW ConnectedDrive too.
