The new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept is forged in style
The 43mm Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date has arrived with an exciting new design that captures attention. This timepiece boasts a striking black forged carbon case enhanced with blue luminescent pigments, created using Audemars Piguet’s advanced Chroma Forged Technology (CFT).
Stunning Looks, Innovative Materials
This innovative material not only offers a modern aesthetic with vivid colour accents but also stands out for its impressive resistance to humidity, heat, and shocks. The lightweight two-tone forged carbon case pairs beautifully with a sleek black ceramic bezel, crown, and push-pieces.
Moreover, the architectural dark dial, accented with electric blue elements, completes the watch’s contemporary look, making it a true statement piece for any occasion. The unveiling of this futuristic watch took place at a lavish event in Singapore.
Famous Names
Amongst those in attendance were prominent figures like Oliviero Bottinelli, a member of Audemars Piguet’s Board of Directors, and Olympic champion Teddy Riner. The star-studded guest list highlighted the watch’s significance in the world of luxury timepieces.
Incidentally, the forged carbon returns to the fold at Audemars Piguet after an eight-year hiatus. Developed over five years by the brand’s R&D teams, the patented CFT carbon combines lightweight properties with exceptional durability. Unlike previous carbon models, this new technology allows for direct colouring of carbon fibres, reducing susceptibility to scratches.
At the heart of this timepiece lies the self-winding Calibre 4407, an engineering marvel that integrates a flyback chronograph, split-seconds function, GMT capability, and a large date display. Despite its sophisticated features, the movement is designed for effortless usability, making it both a technical achievement and a practical accessory.
Ilaria Resta, CEO of Audemars Piguet, remarked on the significance of this new material, emphasising the brand’s commitment to innovation and creativity. The Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT is a testament to the endless possibilities that lie ahead in haute horlogerie.
