The First Act

The festival kicks off with a performance by the Jit Sin High School Chinese Orchestra on Saturday, 20 July 2024, at 8:30 pm. As the orchestra approaches its 50th anniversary, it celebrates a rich history of fostering musical talent and preserving Chinese folk music traditions.

Moreover, the orchestra’s excellence extends beyond local acclaim to international triumphs in Taiwan, Shanghai, Beijing, and Seoul, solidifying its rising reputation. It has also captivated audiences in Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, and China, affirming its global presence and dedication to musical mastery.Jit Sin High

The Highlights

For this festival, the orchestra will present a concert themed “Dialogue of the Songs of Chu,” featuring pieces such as “Dream of the Red Chamber,” “The Sun Shines on Tashkurghan,” “Peninsula Charm,” “Song of Chu,” “The Legend of the Wind Lion God,” and “The River of the Orient.”

The performance will be led by Lim Soon Oo and will showcase erhu player Tan Rou Yee and cellist Lim Sing Yee. The DFP Seni Festival will continue with exciting presentations, including traditional theatres Mek Mulung Putera Cahaya Bulan on 27 July 2024 and Randai Mudo Pak Belalang on 10 August 2024.Jit Sin High
