Pick up a skill, heal and connect with the arts at KLPAC this 2024
2023 was truly a bumper year for the arts in Malaysia. A whopping 134 shows and events took place at the country’s leading performing arts centre, KLPAC, attracting almost 70,000, signalling a strong demand for the arts as well as live performances post-pandemic.
This excitement is expected to continue as KLPAC announces its 2024 programme highlights. It is inviting the public, children and adults, to pick up a skill, heal and connect with the arts through its many offerings throughout the year. So if this sounds like something you might want to try, you know what to do.
TAS Academy Open Day 2024
Moreover, while your New Year’s resolutions are still fresh in mind, mark your calendars for 20 and 21 January 2024 because TAS Academy @ KLPAC will be holding its Open Day with a weekend of free trial classes, theatre tours and more.
For parents of little ones, this is the perfect opportunity to check out the Academy’s well-loved Speech and Drama programme which offers a pathway from 3 years old up to 18 years old. Take the taster class before deciding whether you would like to sign up for the first semester beginning 24 February 2024.
Ready For Action
If treading the boards is one of your goals in 2024 then dive right into the Academy’s 10-week Acting Foundations course by Omar Ali beginning 13 January which is a great launchpad for newbies. Designed by a layman for his fellow laypeople, Omar is well known as a patient guide, generously sharing useful tips and tricks of the trade.
Another course starting in January is Zhafir Muzani’s Contemporary Dance on 28 January giving you the chance to explore your body, tempo, rhythm and other fundamental techniques without any pressure or stress. It’s time to let loose and feel the rhythm with this one.
Shows Galore
KLPAC is set to kick off its show programming in March 2024 with a heart-thumping tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, on the 15th anniversary of his passing mounted by The KLPAC Symphonic Band.
