The global concert series debuts at W Osaka and W Shanghai

W Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio has launched W Presents in the Asia-Pacific region. This expands the global series of live electronic concerts which kicked off in North America in March this year with showcases at W properties in Toronto, Seattle, Nashville, Philadelphia, Montreal, and Aspen.

The Spotlight

The series puts a spotlight on electronic music talents handpicked by Leah Chisholm (LP Giobbi), Global Director of Music for W Hotels and has featured artists including, Channel Tres, DJ_Dave, Neil Frances, Aluna, HVNLEE, Joshua Lang, and DJ Gee Xella.

Moreover, W Presents, cultivated as immersive private showcases for everyone to experience, is the latest example of the brand’s commitment to inclusivity and support of musical talent. The series sets the stage with performances in W Living Rooms (W Hotels iconic lobby/lounge) and experiential spaces including the iconic Sound Suites in-suite recording studios at select W Hotels worldwide.

The Asia-Pacific W Presents series premiered with W Osaka Presents on 18 November 2023 with an opening set by popular Japanese actors, models, and DJ’s SHUZO & YAMATO.  This was followed by Italian headliners Giolì & Assia, a popular DJ and music producer duo known for their indie techno pop sound that finds beauty in the contrasts of light and dark, hope and despair, and classical and contemporary.

The pair performed a live mix of powerful melodies, electric vocals, and the sonorous tones of their signature handpans. From live performance series to professional, hotel suite recording studios and a global music festival series, W Hotels has remained at the forefront of music for decades, serving as both an arbiter of talent and an influential connector in the space.

The Fun Begins

Following the kickoff of W Presents in Osaka, the excitement will continue in Shanghai with Japanese powerhouse DJ Qrion headlining with her signature lush synth textures at W Shanghai Presents on 25 November 2023.
